Recommended Safed Restaurants
Being a religious town, Safed is not much of a restaurant center, but it does have its special places and even some unpolished jewels to discover... Following is the restaurants and delis I would like to recommend in Safed (Zefat, Tzfat, Safad):
Simon's Espresso Bar

Safed Cheese Dairies:
Safed cheese (Hebrew: Gvina Tzfatit) is a special kind of cheese which was first produced in the city of Tzfat (Safed) after which it is named. It is a semi-soft cheese colored white, and usually made of a mixture of cow, goat and sheep milk. the two legendary cheese producers that make Safed cheese are, of course, situated in Safed, and have been there for more that 170 years.
"Hameiri" is no doubt the first dairy to produce cheese in Safed. It was established around 1840 by the family's great grandfather, and has been managed by his descendants since. "Hameiri" Cheese has been sold to major delis around Israel along the years, and it has recently re-opened its gates to visitors in Tzfat (Safed).

Mul Hahar (In front of the mountain) Restaurant
At the heart of the Safed pedestrian mall lies "Mul Hahar" restaurant. It is an Italian - Fish restaurant and a cafe, which is usually populated by local residents. For breakfast you will find "Burekas" - a special pastry with different fillings, and for lunch and dinner they serve a dairy - fish menu. The food is good and simple, and the view is extraordinary.
